LGBTQ+ Guide: Las Vegas Shows, Bars, Clubs, and Community

By Greg Rhoades

The Arts District and Creative Spaces

As the local population has evolved, Downtown Las Vegas—specifically the historic 18b Arts District —has expanded significantly. This neighborhood serves as the cultural heart of the city's independent creative class, where queer artists, entrepreneurs, and allies gather in trendy, inclusive settings.

The Wine Garden

Tucked away in a beautifully designed, rustic-industrial space along Commerce Street in the Arts District, The Wine Garden has quickly emerged as an exceptional local favorite. Owned and managed by visionary floral designer and entrepreneur Randi Garrett, the venue offers an immersive concept where patrons can sip curated flight menus of exceptional boutique wines while participating in hands-on floral design workshops. Its intimate, stylish, outdoor-facing seating area makes it a highly popular oasis for queer networking mixers and elegant afternoon social dates.

Velveteen Rabbit

While not categorized exclusively as a gay bar, Velveteen Rabbit is a fiercely inclusive, female-owned, LGBTQ+-celebrated avant-garde cocktail lounge located on the main Main Street artery of the Arts District. Featuring a stunningly eccentric interior filled with pink velvet couches, local art installations, and a spacious outdoor courtyard, it is famous for its seasonal mixology menu that utilizes house-made elixirs and rare botanical ingredients. It is a premier meeting ground for the city's queer intellectual and artistic communities.
